RESEARCH ON PANDEMIC PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE AGENDA
Supported by Malaria No More UK, I collaborated with their Policy & Strategy team to develop the Pandemic Preparedness and Malaria Interface global report. This work combined both quantitative and qualitative methods: analysing malaria incidence surveys, and conducting interviews with leading stakeholders worldwide on topics such as climate change, vaccine deployment, and financing.
STRATEGIC PROGRAMME MAPPING OF UNESCO'S WORK ON DISABILITY INCLUSION - DEVELOPMENT OF UNESCO STRATEGIC DIRECTION
A comprehensive evaluation of 60 UNESCO projects (2015–2021) across the globe, this project involved developing a framework for intervention types, conducting qualitative research with project leads, and authoring an analytical report that offers strategic recommendations for future disability programming. RESEARCH ON UNDERSTANDING THE GENDERED DIMENSION OF EDUCATION AND THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC FOR LEARNERS WITH DISABILITIES
Funded by the World Bank, this research entailed reviewing quantitative data from UNICEF’s Multiple Country Indicator Surveys (MCIS) across ten countries in Asia and Africa. I also developed conceptual frameworks for national situation analyses, designed research instruments, and oversaw processes for ethical approval and data collection.
RESEARCH ON SCHOOL VIOLENCE AND BULLYING OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES IN THE EASTERN AND SOUTHERN AFRICAN REGION
Funded by UNESCO, I led the methodology/tool development and managed a team for data collection across five countries over eight weeks. This project included obtaining ethics clearance, designing the data-analysis framework, and facilitating participatory workshops to build local ownership and capacity. Report
PROJECT ON MESSAGING FOR INCLUSION: IDENTYFYING RELEVANT FACTORS FOR DISABILITY AND AGE INCLUSIVE DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
As Principal Investigator, I led this ELRHA-supported project from conceptualisation through to implementation, monitoring, and knowledge management. Key activities included literature review, development of ethical and safeguarding protocols, coordinated research methodology with academic partners, and policy development informed by the data. PROJECT ON EXTRA COST OF DISABILITY IN EDUCATION- GIRLS EDUCATION IN SOUTH SUDAN (GESS2)
Part of the GESS2 programme funded by the UK FCDO, this work focused on the extra cost burden for girls with disabilities. I led proposal development, crafted literature reviews, developed both qualitative and quantitative tools, designed analysis plans, and guided school teams in gathering and monitoring data. Report
INNOVATION TO INCLUSION - EXTRA COST OF DISABILITY AND INCLUSIVE SOCIAL PROTECTION
Over a three-year programme in Bangladesh and Kenya, I served as lead researcher/project manager. Deliverables included: defining a methodology for estimating the extra cost of disability; designing a mixed-methods research plan; conducting survey-based data collection from over 2,000 people with disabilities and their families; reviewing existing social protection systems; developing access-to-work schemes; and producing policy recommendations.
DEVELOPMENT OF AT SCALE STAKEHOLDER STRATEGY
Commissioned by UN ATScale, I led this consultancy to build a comprehensive stakeholder strategy. Key tasks included designing the research enquiry, conducting a desk review, collecting data through consultations and surveys, mapping stakeholders, facilitating workshops, and co-authoring the final strategy document.
